Chico

Chico is one of our most basic and easy-to-use designs, while being highly adaptable to your changing needs. Made from two Tatami mats, two futon mattresses and two sets of cushions, Chico easily changes its shape. There are no hinges. In fact, its pieces fit together without any kind of connecting parts. This means you can effortlessly convert your Chico between a sectional, a smaller sofa and a double bed! This simple yet effective sofa is perfect for parties, relaxing and hosting guests.

  • Please note that all of our futon products are handmade, so you may notice slight differences in size and weight.

Chico Sofa Bed / A futon sofa that is simple to use but also very comfortable! It consists of 2 authentic Japanese tatami mats, made by expert craftsmen with natural rice fibers and 2 handmade futon mattresses.

It has 4 back cushions. You can also make it a corner, depending on the needs of the space or your mood. Or if you want to sleep, you can turn it into a double bed. Doesn't that sound nice?

Please note that all of our futon products are handmade, so you may notice slight differences in size and weight.

Care

Tatami:
All tatami mats should be kept dry to prevent mold/mildew. We recommend that you only wipe your tatami with a slightly damp cloth and do not use harsh cleaning solutions or sweep along the weave of the tatami. Going against the weave direction can damage the tatami or push dirt into it. When vacuuming, be sure to select the weakest setting.

Tatami mats are sensitive to moisture, make sure there is some circulation either from above or below. We recommend cleaning and airing the tatami mat every now and then. Dry and sunny days are the best for airing the tatami mats.

Fabric:
Our blended fabric is made of 80% cotton and 20% polyester. Clean only with a dry cloth to avoid stains.
